A short walk from the hotel, there are also a variety of restaurants where guests can enjoy Portuguese and local dishes. The location is an excellent choice for travelers interested in being close to the center, but who are also looking for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, just a few steps from the main attractions of downtown Porto, 400 meters from the hotel, begins the street of “Santa Catarina”, where the famous Café Majestic (Belle Époque) is located. In 2011, it was considered the sixth most beautiful coffee in the world. Nearby, you can also visit the Municipal Market of “Bolhão”, the shopping center Via Catarina, the Coliseum of Porto and, at the end of the Rua de Santa Catarina, there is the “Batalha square” and the National Theater of São João. A little further on, the Porto Cathedral and the Guindais Funicular, which takes you to Ribeira square, (“UNESCO World Heritage”) and to the entire historic center of Porto, where you can contemplate the iconic bridge “Dom Luís I “, which offers panoramic views of the Douro River and the City. There are several bars and restaurants on the riverside, you can visit the Porto Wine cellars and museums, the stock exchange Palace, São Bento metro,and train Station, Porto City Hall and its great square, the Rivoli Theater, the Clérigos Tower, the Lello bookshop and the Cristal Palace with its gardens. All these historic landmarks are close, the most distant being about 3,000m from the hotel. Porto also has other fascinating areas. On the west side, from Hotel Jaguar, at 2,700m is the Boavista Roundabout, and the Concert Hall (Casa da Música), designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas. Further ahead, at 2,900m from the Roundabout, are the lush Serralves Gardens and Museum of Contemporary Art, and from there to the City park, it is just 1,500m.
