The Hotel Jaguar Oporto opened its doors to the public in early March 2023, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued guests who have stayed with us to date. We would like to inform you that we intend to expand our hotel from early 2028, with four restaurants, including a takeaway option, an executive restaurant and two further distinct restaurants. In addition, there will be eight small meeting rooms where meals can also be served, as well as a wine bar, a patisserie and a wine shop, etc. We look forward to continuing our daily efforts to better serve our guests.

Description of the Hotel Jaguar Oporto
and certain areas of the city.

Stay just a few minutes from the centre of Porto, away from the hustle and bustle. The Hotel Jaguar Oporto offers 4-star facilities and is located 300 metres from Praça do Marquês and its metro station; from there begins one of Porto’s busiest shopping streets, ‘Rua de Santa Catarina’. The rooms are elegantly decorated and soundproofed, some of which have a terrace. All rooms have air conditioning, very comfortable beds, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a desk, wardrobes, an electric kettle, a safe, a minibar, a telephone, etc. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a high-quality shower, a clock, an LED magnifying mirror, a hairdryer, scales, shoe cleaning products and complimentary toiletries. Some superior rooms also include a spa bath. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The hotel features a restaurant, a bar and free parking.
A Continental or English breakfast buffet is served every morning between 7.00 am and 10.30 am. The restaurant is open from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm for lunch and from 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm for dinner. The bar, where guests can relax in the evening and enjoy a varied drinks menu, is open until 1.00 am. The reception is open 24 hours a day, offering a range of services and information, including a wake-up call service.
At the hotel reception, there are vending machines available at all times, stocked with 1.5-litre bottles of water and food items such as delicious sandwiches and fruit salads, prepared daily in the hotel kitchen.

Just a short walk from the hotel, there is also a variety of restaurants where guests can enjoy Portuguese and local dishes. The location is an excellent choice for travellers keen to be close to the city centre, yet seeking a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, just a stone’s throw from the main attractions of Baixa do Porto. Just 400 metres from the hotel begins Rua Santa Catarina, home to the famous Café Majestic (Belle Époque), which in 2011 was ranked the sixth most beautiful café in the world. Nearby, you can also visit the Bolhão Municipal Market, the Via Catarina shopping centre, the Porto Coliseum, and at the end of Rua de Santa Catarina lies Praça da Batalha and the São João National Theatre. A little further on, you’ll find Porto Cathedral and the Guindais Funicular, which takes you to Praça da Ribeira (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the whole of Porto’s historic centre, where you can admire the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, which offers panoramic views over the River Douro and the city. There are numerous bars and restaurants along the riverfront; you can also visit the Port wine cellars and museums, the Palácio da Bolsa, the metro and São Bento railway station, Porto City Hall and its large square, the Rivoli Theatre, the Clérigos Tower, the Lello bookshop, and the Crystal Palace with its gardens. All these historic landmarks are nearby, with the furthest being around 3,000 metres from the hotel. Porto also has other fascinating areas. To the west of the hotel Jaguar Oporto, 2,700 metres away, you will find the Boavista Roundabout and the Concert Hall (Casa da Música), designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas. Further on, 2,900 metres from the Rotunda, lie the lush Serralves Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art, and from there to the City Park it is just 1,500 metres.

Porto City Park, home to the “Sea Life” Aquarium, is the country’s largest urban park, covering a total of 83 hectares, and is just 6.5 km from the hotel. This beautiful, extensive park stretches all the way to the sea and also leads to the “Castelo do Queijo”. From this point, heading towards Praça da Ribeira, part of the walkway runs alongside the sea on a wooden deck. Guests can admire the sea with its small beaches surrounded by rocky outcrops. Be sure to visit all these beautiful spots. To the east, 1,600 metres from the hotel Jaguar Oporto, you’ll find the Estádio do Dragão (FC Porto), as well as the “Alameda Shop & Spot” shopping centre, and, a little further on, 2,300 metres away, the Campanhã train and metro station. Finally, the S. João University Hospital is just 2,900 metres from the hotel Jaguar Oporto. All distances indicated in relation to the hotel are measured using OpenStreetMap.
At the hotel, you can obtain a daily pass for the Porto metro at a reduced rate, allowing guests to visit certain parts of the city, as well as its satellite towns: Matosinhos, Maia, Gondomar, Vila Nova de Gaia, the Airport, etc.
Guests also have access to a “free” daily shuttle service between the airport and the hotel and vice versa, between 7 am and 8 pm.
At any other time when you use the hotel’s vehicles, the cost of transportation from the Airport to the hotel is 25€, which will be included in the room rate. As an alternative, you can take the metro from the Airport to Praça do Marquês for about 3€
. (with just one change at the Trindade stop), and Praça do Marquês is only 300 metres from the Hotel Jaguar Oporto.

Guests are advised to email the hotel with their booking reference, flight number and estimated time of arrival at the Airport. The hotel will always ensure a response to its guests.
The hotel has a fast electric vehicle charger for all types of vehicles at a reduced rate. A computer and photocopier are available free of charge. There is a luggage storage facility available free of charge. Children up to 3 years old can use a cot, upon request (free of charge). Children aged 3 to 14, staying in the same room as adults, with an extra bed in the room, measuring between 1.20m and 1.70m, at a cost of 40€. Other services provided include laundry, dry cleaning and ironing. All these services are provided at an additional cost. Please note that all special requests are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Pets are not permitted in the hotel. The reception staff speak several languages, which facilitates communication with hotel guests. Check-out is by midday and check-in is from 3.00 pm. On arrival at the hotel, at check-in, guests must present a photo ID and the credit card used to make the booking; please contact the hotel in advance if the booking was made using a third party’s credit card.
Room rates include 6% VAT and a municipal tax of 3€ per person per night.
